ALL STUDENTS / TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES

Estimados alumnos,

EN 3º D/2º D TODOS LOS ALUMNOS SUSPENSOS DEBEN REALIZAR LAS TAREAS QUE SE LES INDICA POR CORREO PARA REPASAR, NO LAS DEL BLOG.
EN 2º A/B LOS ALUMNOS SUSPENSOS DEBEN IR REPASANDO CON LAS ACTIVIDADES DEL BLOG, O CONTACTAR CON LA PROFESORA EN CASO DE NECESITAR MÁS MATERIAL.

TAKE CARE

2AB Wednesday 27th, Thursday 28th and Friday 29th Unit 7 grammar review

Good morning!
Today we are going to continue reviewing Unit 7, a few months ago you struggled with the passive and the causative, LET'S TRAVEL BACK IN TIME...

YOU HAVE 3 DAYS TO READ, WATCH AND DO THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES AND WORKSHEETS, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR COMMENTS BELOW or SEND ME AN EMAIL IF YOU NEED FURTHER EXPLANATIONS

The passive voice is used to show interest in the person or object that experiences an action rather than the person or object that performs the action. In other words, the most important thing or person becomes the subject of the sentence.

TASK 1 watch a couple of  grammar explanation videos, preferably short and in English, if you need reinforcement please watch as many as you want, you have longer videos in Spanish as well:

Optional videos to watch with explanations in English and Spanish:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI5zaB6QL-o short and in English
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wxIvJtb_iPk short and in English
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nRGLDD0BBdc short and in English

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1OmSgZmCNQ longer in English and Spanish
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPTV5VmnQwY long but in Spanish (watch it if you need reinforcement)

TASK 2 Please read the explanation in one of the following links, as an optional activity you can do some of the different exercises included at the end in each website:

https://learnenglish.britishcouncil.org/grammar/intermediate-to-upper-intermediate/passives
https://www.ego4u.com/en/cram-up/grammar/passive

We use the causative in English to say that we have arranged for someone to do something for us.
He had his jacket cleaned.
(He didn't clean it himself.)
The causative is formed with 'have + object + past participle' The past participle has a passive meaning.

Optional videos to watch with explanations in English and Spanish:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY8ch2SdTw8 short and in English
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf2w7BtrGao
